Last year sales of homeopathic medicines in Europe topped £3billion. Debate about how it scientifically works are heated but most Europeans are now going to a homeopath as their first course of treatment and 20 per cent of Scottish GPs currently practice this medicine. Many scientific studies have been carried out that proves its efficacy medically and especially in flu outbreaks like this swine flu H1N1.

This medicine could be the natural solution for the epidemic. No nasty chemicals and it reduces the flu symptoms by three days in compasison to a vaccine that has not been tested and will be take up to six weeks to create an effect. Most importantly this remedy could help regulate the deadly ‘cytokine storm’ effect of this remedy.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 176px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8NXHy4mJ6Js/Sqj72FVNqdI/AAAAAAAAAG8/D6m9LDaiyyc/s200/222-swine-flu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379826661456718290" />Oscillococcinum was first studied in France during the 1987 flu epidemic caused by an H1N1 virus similar to the bird flu of today. This multi-centre study examined the effect of Oscillococcinum (200C) on the early symptoms of flu. Results were published in the peer-reviewed British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. More patients in the treatment group recovered completely in the first 48 hours than the control group (17 percent of patients with active treatment compared to 10 percent of controls). More patients in the treatment group also judged the treatment as better compared to the placebo, 61 percent vs 49 percent (Ferley, 1989).

In 1990 German scientists replicated the French study of Oscillococcinum. They used the same criteria as the previous study and enrolled 372 patients. After 48 hours of treatment with Oscillococcinum the treatment group had considerably milder symptoms than the control group, and the number of patients with no symptoms from day two onward was significantly greater in the treatment group (17.4 percent) compared to the control group (6.6 percent) (Papp, 1998).

Both of these studies show a significant curative effect of a homeopathic medicine in the treatment of flu in carefully conducted, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. Conventional antiviral drugs reduce the duration of flu by about one day if taken within the first 48 hours of illness (Cooper, 2003). These studies shows that homeopathy carries the potential to make a dramatic difference in any flu epidemic without the risk of drug side effects. However some of those drugs have now been linked to heart problems and do not address the ‘cytokine storm’ of this swine flu H1N1.
Private European insurers cover homeopathic treatments, and The World Health Organisation recommends them. A few years ago Spain took an initiative to incorporate homeopathy into its national health service.

www.theflucase.com
http://stargatenutritionvitamin.blogspot.com

Tibetan Medicine is an ancient medical system that has been successfully practiced for over 1,000 years. Author Ralph Quinlan Forde walks us through Tibetan medicine’s development, principles, and methods in pithy chapters that are accompanied by eye-catching photos and a pleasing design. But Forde’s treatment is not superficial. He takes pains to explain Tibetan medicine’s cultural and spiritual context, which is dramatically different from the milieu in which Western medicine is practiced. A holistic, integrated system, Tibetan medicine looks for the root causes of health and sickness in cosmology (such as seasonal changes), human factors (such as diet and behavior), and the effect of spiritual dynamics (such as karma). While many of its therapeutic techniques are commonplace these days (dietary changes, herbal remedies, massage, etc.), without knowledge of the back story, some cures will strike you as peculiar (cupping, pills made of valuable metals, special prayers). Still, Forde may have the power to make a believer out of you.

Tibetan Medicine is an ancient medical system that has been successfully practiced for over 1,000 years. A holistic approach combining dietary and behavioral changes, herbal cures, massage and meditation, this unique approach to healing utilizes the ancient wisdom of Tibetan masters. A holistic approach combining dietary and behavioral changes, herbal cures, massage and meditation, this unique approach to healing utilizes the ancient wisdom of Tibetan master doctors to diagnose accurately and cure modern diseases.

“The Book of Tibetan Medicine”, by Ralph Quinlan Forde, which has being published world wide in 11 languages, claims His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama has been the main visionary and driving force, in exile, who has saved Tibetan Medicine from extinction. The establishment of The Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Dharamsala was one of the first projects His Holiness The Dalai Lama undertook when he first came into exile nearly 50 years ago. This Institute now trains doctors in this traditional medicine, manufactures herbal formulas and supplies healthcare to over 50 Tibetan refugee camps in India.

Many westerners now also consult with Tibetan Doctors, asking advice on how to heal and help cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and even HIV.

In the book, which is fully illustrated with over 140 paintings, His Holiness The Dalai Lama is pictured together with Lady Doctor Bhutti whom He personally encouraged to train as a Tibetan Doctor along with a handful of other suitable candidates. Dr Bhutti now lives and practices Tibetan Medicine in Boston. She and her class mates memorized the four medical tantras before qualifying as Tibetan Doctors.

His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama has stated in the past that,'Tibetan Medicine is deeply influenced by Buddhist practice and theory that stresses the indivisible interdependence of mind, body and vitality. As an integrated system of healthcare Tibetan Medicine has served the Tibetan people well for many centuries and I believe can provide much benefit to humanity at large.'

Tibetan Medicine, an extremely important part of Tibetan culture, is a totally integrative medical system that is 1000 years old. Tibetan Doctors train for up to ten years. Only one copy of over 70 sacred medical paintings of this healing science now exist. They were painted in the 17th century and one painting alone depicts the development of the embryo week by week, without the use of modern scientific equipment.

In particular, the synergistic herbal formulas, over 1000 formulas with up to 30 herbs each, are renowned for restoring health over a period of time with very little side effects. One formula, Padma 28, is manufactured in Switzerland in a pharmaceutical facility and has undergone a number of scientific studies. The formula is particularly successful in the treatment of intermittent claudication and vascular disease and has been used in the west for over 35 years. The product Padma 28 interestingly has also been shown in scientific studies to stop the spread of cancer in the body.

Tibetan Medicine also contains the oldest psychiatric system in the world, complete with methods of diagnosis and treatments. Interest in Tibetan Medicine has been increasingly growing in the west over the last few years. Patients always refer to the kindness and compassion of the Tibetan Doctors and the effectiveness of their treatment and care over time, as they work to restore the body's systems that promote health and wellbeing.

Professor Jan de Vries, a name that has been synonymous with expert complementary healthcare for over 40 years has recently stated the following about The Book of Tibetan Medicine,"This is possibly the best book I have read for a long, long time. For thousands of years Tibetan Healing has been known all over the world. The writer has used his knowledge of Tibetan medicine in a very constructive way. He has the great gift of putting together how Tibetan medicine can be applied in our day and age.' Jan de Vries is the author of over 30 books on complimentary medicine.

Ralph Quinlan Forde has also founded and officially registered a charity to protect, promote and practice Tibetan Medicine www.medicinebuddhafoundation.org

Public Endorsements for The Book of Tibetan Medicine

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8NXHy4mJ6Js/Sko8cpZ_VgI/AAAAAAAAAFs/J6PGL8WWDYs/s320/TBTM+-+French+2008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353157569932121602" />
Tibetan Medicine is an ancient medical system that has been successfully practiced for over 1,000 years. His Holiness The 17th Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje (www.karmapa.org) has very kindly written the forward to this ground breaking and first illustrated guide to Tibetan Medicine.

The book presents the great Drikung Chokyi Drakpa from the 16th century who played an important role in the evolution of Tibetan Medicine. Lho Kunsang Rinpoche the great Drikung healing tulku is also featured who is the guru of movie star Jet Li.

The book contains over 140 sacred paintings and photographs. Integrating many of the alternative practices already popular in the West, such as meditation, yoga, herbal remedies and nutrition, this effective system offers readers exciting new ways of thinking about health, based on a person's constitutional type and relationship to the environment and the changing seasons. As well as explaining the history and theory of Tibetan Medicine, this book explores practical ways of making the therapeutic practices part of daily life, from a five-day rejuvenation programme to meditation, dream therapy and other profound spiritual practices.

http://www.stargatenutrition.com/product.php?id=4

The book has received a number of rave reviews from notable medical professionals and editors of scientific peer reviewed journals. The book has also been based on over 90 scientific references to make a case for western medicine to begin exploring this integrative medical system.

Ralph Quinlan Forde the author and Holistic Medicine Consultant has contributed to the following publications over eight years, The Independent on Sunday, The Sunday Herald, IVENUS, Tescos Magazine, The Irish Examiner and The Sunday Tribune.
